External audit
Financial-statement audit planning, evidence requests and reporting for the relevant entity and recipient.
Annual audit servicesAUDIT · ACCOUNTING · UAE TAX
Practical support for Abu Dhabi mainland and free-zone companies—from annual financial statements to accounting, VAT, Corporate tax and advisory work.

THE RIGHT STARTING POINT
An Abu Dhabi mainland LLC, an ADGM company and an industrial entity in KEZAD can have very different financial reporting and auditor-appointment requirements.
SAIF Chartered Accountants supports UAE businesses with financial audits, accounting, tax and related advisory. An enquiry from Abu Dhabi starts with the legal entity, its licence and the purpose of the work. We then identify the appropriate service team or coordinate with the local associate practice. The engagement letter should name the firm responsible for the service and, where relevant, the firm that will sign the audit report.
For a company looking for auditors in Abu Dhabi, the practical question is whether the proposed firm meets the requirements of the company’s authority and the intended report recipient. This should be resolved before the reporting deadline, not after the accounts are prepared.

Financial due diligenceAUDIT PLANNING
Decide whether the report is for a statutory filing, licence renewal, shareholder meeting, bank, transaction or group reporting. That purpose can change the required format, recipient, deadlines and signing-firm criteria.
For ADGM specifically, the Registration Authority’s annual-accounts guidance distinguishes audited and simplified filings by entity circumstances. The relevant classification must be checked rather than assumed from a general UAE search result.

Use the company’s licence and authority documents to select the relevant guidance. The location alone does not establish an audit exemption, auditor approval or Corporate tax outcome.
For a mainland company, establish its legal form, shareholders’ requirements, accounting period and intended recipients. Check any sector, lender or group reporting conditions alongside the general company-law position.
Ask about mainland audit support ↗Annual-accounts filing and auditor registration follow ADGM’s own rules. Our guide focuses on accounting and audit readiness; confirm the signing auditor’s ADGM status before appointment.
ADGM audit readiness ↗Industrial, logistics and trading businesses may need special attention to stock, production costs, customs records and group balances.
KEZAD audit guide ↗Technology, sustainability and professional-services entities should begin with their own licence, year end and reporting instructions.
Masdar City guide ↗Media and creative businesses may have project revenue, intellectual-property and cross-border reporting questions.
twofour54 guide ↗Confirm the legal entity and authority’s current appointment and submission requirements before scoping an audit.
Airport free-zone guide ↗An ADGM statutory audit needs an auditor registered under that framework; audit-readiness or accounting assistance does not itself confer signing eligibility. Check the ADGM public register before appointing the signing firm.

RECORDS THAT MATTER
A consultancy may be focused on project revenue, payroll, contracts and receivables. A warehouse or manufacturer may have stock counts, goods in transit, costing and customs documentation. A group may need related-party agreements, intercompany reconciliations and transfer-pricing support.
Good accounting throughout the year is more efficient than trying to reconstruct everything at the reporting deadline. Our accounting services can help organise the records, while an independent audit is planned and performed as a separate assurance engagement.
Corporate tax treatment should be analysed from the entity’s actual activities and income, not simply from the words “free zone” on a licence. If that is your question, begin with our Qualifying Free Zone Person guide and your entity’s transaction profile.

COMMON QUESTIONS
These answers are starting points. We confirm the legal entity, applicable rules and engagement scope before advising on a filing or audit.
SAIF’s direct UAE offices are in Dubai and Sharjah. In Abu Dhabi, our separately named associate office is SGA World Auditing Accounting in Al Bateen. We will identify the contracting and signing firm for a proposed engagement.
Start with the company’s licence, legal form, financial year and reason for the audit. Check whether the authority, bank or other report recipient has specific auditor eligibility or report-format rules. Then discuss the scope and timetable with the proposed firm.
Not every entity has the same requirement. Company law, ADGM or other free-zone rules, Corporate tax conditions, shareholders and lenders can all affect the answer. Establish the entity and applicable rules before assuming either an audit or an exemption.
An ADGM statutory audit must be signed by an appropriately registered auditor under ADGM’s framework. We can help with accounting and audit readiness, then confirm the intended signing firm’s status in ADGM’s public register before appointment.
Send the trade licence or incorporation details, latest financial statements or trial balance, prior audit report if available, reporting period, expected recipient and target date. Share sensitive records only through an agreed secure channel.
Yes. A coordinated work plan can help the records and tax schedules be ready for independent review. Accounting or tax preparation and the independent audit remain distinct engagements with appropriate responsibilities and safeguards.
The entity type, transaction volume, stock locations, quality of reconciliations, group structure, reporting framework and required recipient all matter. A firm should scope the work before giving a fee or completion estimate.
