Revenue, gross margin and costs
Compare actual results with the chosen baseline. Separate a genuine trading movement from a posting or timing error.
Monthly accounts · MIS · decisions
Know what changed in your business, why it changed and what needs attention next. SAIF turns reconciled UAE accounting records into monthly management accounts, focused KPIs and clear financial commentary for owners and leadership teams.
The direct answer
It is a recurring review of financial performance and position for internal decisions. It combines dependable monthly accounts with comparisons, explanations and follow-up. A report should tell a managing director whether sales growth produced cash, which costs moved, whether margins changed and what action is needed—not merely export a profit-and-loss screen.
For UAE SMEs, trading companies, professional firms and growing groups, the most useful pack is usually smaller than a long dashboard. It begins with a month-end close: sales and purchase cut-off, bank and control-account reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and review of unusual entries. Only then should figures be compared with a budget, prior month or prior year. Management reports are internal information; they are not audited financial statements.
A useful monthly MIS pack
Every pack is designed for the business. This structure shows the questions we would test before agreeing recurring deliverables—not a set of invented client results.
Compare actual results with the chosen baseline. Separate a genuine trading movement from a posting or timing error.
Review receivables, payables, inventory and other balances that explain whether reported profit is converting into cash.
Explain the bank movement. Where agreed, maintain a separate forecast of expected collections and payments.
Record material exceptions, the probable cause, the person responsible and the date for the next review.
The measures, comparisons, thresholds and reporting dimensions are set with your team after we review the ledger and operational data.

From operations to insight
A retail outlet may have daily POS sales, inventory counts, card-settlement reports and supplier invoices in different systems. If returns, stock movements or merchant fees are posted inconsistently, a neat monthly chart can show the wrong margin.
We trace the important inputs, agree a consistent chart of accounts and reporting dimensions, and investigate exceptions. The outcome is a reporting process management can repeat—not a one-off presentation. For software configuration and migration, see our accounting software implementation service.
Questions worth reporting on
We choose measures by the decisions they support, not by the number of charts a system can export.
Compare sales with direct costs, gross margin and operating expenses. Where reliable data exists, show performance by branch, product, project or customer group with an agreed cost-allocation method.
Track aged receivables, overdue debts, supplier terms and slow-moving stock. Reconcile working-capital movements to the balance sheet and the bank position.
Explain material budget-versus-actual variances by timing, volume, price, mix or one-off items. An exception should have an owner and a next step.
Where useful, add a rolling cash or earnings forecast with explicit assumptions. Compare previous predictions with actual outcomes and adjust them.
Our working method
The exact close calendar depends on the records and the team. We agree hand-offs and a realistic review date before the first recurring pack.
Identify who will read the pack, the questions it must answer, reporting entities, budget basis, KPIs and materiality thresholds. Remove measures that nobody will act on.
Collect transactions and source records, apply cut-off, reconcile banks and control accounts, and record accruals, prepayments and corrections as appropriate.
Prepare the financial statements and agreed schedules. Compare to budget, history or operational volumes; resolve unusual movements with the client team.
Present concise commentary, assign actions and revisit earlier exceptions the following month. Adjust report design when the business or data changes.
Engagement scope
SAIF can prepare the underlying books and the monthly pack, or work with an existing finance team that posts transactions. We may review reconciliations and assemble the pack from your ledger and operational systems. In either model, the proposal identifies who supplies records, who posts journals, who approves adjustments and who signs off the final report.
We support Zoho Books, Odoo and other accounting and ERP systems. A system dashboard can accelerate production, but it does not replace review of classifications, cut-off and unusual balances. We can also connect reporting with business and financial advisory when management wants help turning trends into a plan.

Answers to the practical questions owners and finance teams ask before setting up monthly reporting.
Management accounts are periodic financial reports prepared for the people running a business. A useful monthly pack normally starts with a reconciled profit and loss account and balance sheet, then explains cash, receivables, payables, significant variances and actions. The exact content depends on the business.
No. Bookkeeping records and reconciles transactions; management reporting interprets the resulting numbers against targets and business questions. The two can be supplied together or reporting can be built on records maintained by your internal team.
Yes. We can scope a monthly close and reporting pack for a Dubai or wider UAE business. We first review the ledger, transaction cut-off, reconciliations, reporting dimensions and the decisions the owner needs to make.
A typical MIS pack may include revenue and gross margin, operating expenses, profit, balance-sheet movements, cash, debtor and creditor ageing, working capital, budget-versus-actual results, trend charts and written commentary. We select the measures that can be supported by reliable source data.
We identify the amount and period, check whether it reflects timing, volume, price, mix, coding or a one-off event, and assign an owner to investigate or act. A red number without a cause or follow-up is not useful management commentary.
Often, if the accounting and operational systems capture those categories consistently and shared costs are allocated by an agreed method. We test the data before promising a segment-profitability report and document the assumptions.
It can be included as a separately scoped forward-looking schedule. Historic cash movements explain what happened; a forecast models expected receipts, payments and timing. Forecast assumptions need regular review against actual cash.
No. Internal management accounts are prepared for decision-making and are not an audit opinion or a substitute for statutory or other external financial-statement requirements. We can coordinate the underlying records with year-end reporting.
Yes, subject to data quality and access. SAIF works with Zoho Books, Odoo and other accounting and ERP systems. The platform can supply data and dashboards, but account mapping, reconciliations and commentary still need finance review.
We would identify the gaps first, agree a catch-up or correction scope and establish an opening position. Publishing a polished management pack from unexplained bank, VAT or customer balances would be misleading.
The timetable depends on when complete source records, approvals and reconciliations are available. We agree a close calendar and named responsibilities after reviewing your transaction flow and current data; we do not promise a fixed deadline without that review.
Fees depend on entity count, transaction volume, ledger quality, reporting frequency, consolidation, segment analysis, forecasting and whether SAIF also performs bookkeeping. A proposal should distinguish routine monthly reporting from historical clean-up and ad hoc analysis.
Yes. We can review the month-end close, develop the reporting pack and provide variance commentary while your team maintains the ledger. Responsibilities for posting, approval, reconciliation and final sign-off should be explicit.
Yes. We usually begin with the core financial statements, cash and a small number of meaningful measures. Once coding and cut-off are stable, branch, project, customer or forecast views can be added where the data supports them.
